CULTURAL MOSAIC OF THE CITY: OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS

Yermilov Centre together with the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) and Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazina starts the project "Cultural mosaic of the city", which consists of scientific and artistic parts.
The project aims to comprehend the ideas and practices of multiculturalism in Ukraine, exploring the relationship between cultures through personal stories, artistic expressions and artistic images. In particular, it focuses on the following issues:
- verbal language and interpretation;
- rethinking the past through personal and collective memory, working with archival materials and oral history;
- gender equality: LGBT +, feminism;
- social conflict: one's own / another's relationship, the issue of the need for choice.
It is implemented in two stages:
- September 2021 - online exhibition;
- December 2021 - offline exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art "YermilovCentre" (Kharkiv).
Participation in the project provides for a monetary reward of the artist in amount of UAH 5,000 and UAH 5,000 for the production of works (printing, transportation costs, etc.).
To take part in the project you have to:
- fill out the Google form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNtfIb0BjhVr7sdASE9uxYnp9MLjGhMPTeLboLnQLP4WAZVA/viewform
- send the project together with the concept to YermilovCentre’s email - yermilovcentre@gmail.com in PDF (PDF size - up to 5 MB, file name = name of the author / team / curator_name) or a link to the cloud storage/site.
Ready-made projects or projects at the stage of completion are accepted for consideration.
