On March 9 at 18:00, the YermilovCentre  will open a powerful collective exhibition entitled Personnel. The eloquent title captures how the time of war has changed the vocabulary of every Ukrainian. 17 artists from Kharkiv place their works side by side to address their compatriots.

The war has disturbed the natural state of things. The city is cut by sinkholes, the inhabitants live to the sound of sirens, but Kharkiv does not give up, on the contrary: what was destroyed yesterday has already been rebuilt today. According to the architect of the exhibition Kostiantyn Zorkin: "Personnel" has brought together artists who have contributed to strengthening the soul of Kharkiv". Representatives of several generations and different artistic practices spread the power of community.

In addition to the reactionary works created during the ART KUZEMYN residency in 2022, the exhibition includes works of anticipation. The curator of the project and director of the center, Natalia Ivanova, is passionately convinced that art is always "on time". As it is emphasized in the concept: "For the Ukrainian public, especially in war-torn cities, exhibition projects play an energizing role."

The staff includes: Oleksii Borisov, Artem Volokitin, Kostiantyn Zorkin, Oleh Kalashnik, Taras Kamennoi, Vitalii Kokhan, Vladyslav Krasnoshchok, Bella Logachova, Kostiantyn Lizogub, Pavlo Makov, Eliza Mamardashvili, Liliia Petrova, Andrii Rachynskyi & Daniil Revkovskyi, Oleksandr Ridnyi, Olya Fedorova, Vlad Yudin, Oleksii Yaloveha.

Curated by: Natalia Ivanova.

Text for the exhibition concept and design: Kostiantyn Zorkin.

The project "ART KUZEMYN: a Place for Art" was supported as a result of the selection in the open call for proposals (re)connection UA, a pilot project created by the Museum of Contemporary Art / MOCA NGO in partnership with UNESCO and funded by the UNESCO Emergency Fund for Heritage.
