Time is not required. Gamlet Zinkivskyi

Category:

On 24 January, the YermilovCentre will open an exhibition entitled ‘Time is not required’ by Gamlet Zinkivskyi, which is a continuation of his diary project 365.

‘Our biggest mistake in life is that we always leave it unfinished, always putting something off until tomorrow. Those who finish their lives every day, like an artist finishes a drawing, have no need for time.’ Seneca, Letter XI, 8

‘And I have nothing to say about myself...’ — the only, yet meaningful comment the author gave us. Friends, the existential search continues, and during it we repeatedly encounter deterministic abysses. Is it worth jumping?

We are waiting for you on 24 January from 12:00. No official opening.

Gamlet Zinkivskyi is a Ukrainian artist and illustrator who works primarily with graphics and street art. Today, his works appear on the ruins of bombed-out buildings and plywood-covered windows in Kharkiv. In addition to his creative activities,Gamlet Zinkivskyi is an active volunteer, helping with evacuations and fundraising.

In 2013, he represented Ukraine at the 53rd Venice Biennale (together with Mykola Ridnyi and Zhanna Kadyrova). He was born, lives and works in Kharkiv.

The exhibition will run from 24 January to 15 March.

YermilovCentre is open Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 19:00.

Entrance is free.
